Super 8 movie

The year is 1979. Joe Lamb, son of an Ohio sheriff's deputy, is helping his friend Charles finish a zombie movie on a Super 8 camera when a nighttime shoot near the train tracks changes their lives forever. The train, carrying cargo from Area 51, derails in a storm of fire and shredded metal... and something escapes the wreckage. As people begin to disappear and unexplained phenomena crop up all over town, Joe's father investigates a terrifying truth that Joe himself already understands all too well.

Three Good Reasons

1 Master storytellers J. J. Abrams ("Lost," "Star Trek") and Steven Spielberg collaborated to invent this bittersweet and suspenseful tale.
2 Elle Fanning, who plays Joe Lamb's crush, follows in her older sister Dakota's footsteps by delivering a magnetic performance that most adult actors would envy.
3 Older audiences will appreciate the nostalgic mood of the film. With its combination of personal heartache and sci-fi thrills, it's a throwback to the popcorn blockbusters of the 80's.

Bet You Didn't Know

Despite (government-planted?) rumors that the legendary Area 51 was preparing to close down, satellite photos from as recently as 2009 seem to indicate that the top-secret Air Force base is, in fact, expanding. Making room for some new visitors, perhaps?
